Looking to green your wedding or your diet? By catering and/or eating locally produced food, you reduce the carbon emissions of transporting your food to you.
The NRDC has a nice feature on their website that shows the fruits and vegetables that are in season for your state at any given time. This isn’t foolproof (especially considering how large and varied the climate is here in Arizona), but it’s a great start and is interesting to see how much we depend on importing our food to eat what we like when we like.
